Cool In Light Up El Wire Glasses
Not exactly something that was available back in the eighties but this Light Up El Wire Glasses will bring out the neon fashion that was very popular back then.

Would be great for someone who is not planning on dressing up with a costume for the party. Just wear these flashing neon frames and it will be the talk of any party, be it 80s or not.

Now I am thinking.....don't you think I will be able to freak out my kids if I had these on outdoors in the dark. Aliens! Just kidding.

Some people have commented that they used it for a Halloween party. I supposed you could use it for the office New Year's do as well. You will be a hit there.

Oh, by the way they do have a few colors available. Check it out at Amazon.

80s Style Novelty Inflatable Boom Box Cooler For Music Lovers
Now this is a really interesting and novel Boom Box Cooler that will make a great gift for party lovers of the 1980s.

It's reasonably sized and should be big enough to hold all, [or perhaps almost all] of the drinks that's taging along for any eighties theme party.

Should fit nicely on the table along with any buffet that people may bring or the host laid out. Will also be a hit at an outdoor party too.

Now what I like about this is the 'Boom Box' look. So cool ):

Reminds me of the time when I had one of them. I mean the real thing, music and all. Thought I looked hip walking around with it.  Ha Ha.

Hopefully someone at the party doesn't actually think that this is a real music machine and pops it on their shoulders, walking with it all around.....That would be a laugh!

If there is one thing that the eighties can be commended for was the creativity it showed in fashion design. Convention was abandoned and designers began to display interesting creations.

However it must be pointed out that the fashion most people associate with that era actually didn't evolve till the mid 80s with the likes of pop icon Cyndi Lauper, who is claimed to be one of  responsible for bringing in this new style.

So what unique about the fashion then?

First off, the type of accessories people wore changed. Sunglasses, hoop earrings and bangles were in, and they had to be bright colored - neon preferably.

The makeup colors changed too - loud was in. Teased hair became part of the style for the decade.

Although these changes in style caught on fast with the younger generation, but the era was a fun decade and soon all women began to catch on with these new ideas and have fun too.

Things were very 'flexible' back then and it was not unusual to see women change their style of dressing every day.

If the fashion of the 80s interest you, I came across this great website [linked below] which goes into detail on what the fashion was like then detailing it year by year. Men's fashion is cover too, just scroll down. For more information - Go to: > This Website <

All-in-One Lighter Bottle Cap Opener Keychain Necklace with 80s Music Image
Its a lighter, no its a necklace, nope its a bottle opener - its actually the all-in-one Lighter Bottle Cap Opener Keychain Necklace with a 80s Music Cassette Collection image.

Now that's a mouthful! ):

Imagine trying to repeat that when you are asked what's in the box by the person you are gifting this to. Ha Ha.

But I actually love this for its novelty. And I'm kinda sure many would too.

That being said, this will be a great surprise present for the 80s lovers.

Imagine them walking around the party lighting up people's cigarettes and opening beer bottles. Hopefully the host is not serving cans!

Dress up in an eighties costume - put on some fashionable neon leg warmers. Have this around the neck and I am pretty sure she [or even he] will be the light of the party.

Funny 80s Authentic Looking Frankie Says Relax Cotton T-Shirt
Another great blast from the past - a funny 80s authentic looking, 'Frankie Says Relax' cotton T-shirt that will be a great gift for the rebels of the era.

The group Frankie Goes To Hollywood was a hit during those years and you were sort of making a statement back then if you wore a tee with these words on it.

There's something about tees with famous quotes that will always fit in with any retro theme parties, especially the casual events and this will be ideal to catch the attention of everyone.

If I recall correctly, there is a story behind these words and it goes something like this.

They were a British band of the times and became popular following a temporary ban by the BBC of their debut single 'Relax' as they felt that the record cover as well as the lyrics were somewhat sexual.

Nothing we would find overtly sexual today, but don't forget that this happened in 1984. As with most things that get banned, the song made it to the Top 10 within a week! And, alas the quote lives to this day!

The group went on to much more fame and received a Grammy plus other awards.

Then, there's also the story about Ross and Rachel [from the hit TV series 'Friends'] and the rather awkward break up they had in one episode. This T-shirt turns up as one of the items they fight over with both claiming to love it. See video below....kinda touching end ):
